"Friends are angels that lift us up when our wings have forgotten how to fly." This is my favorite quote dealing with friendship because it is so true. People often think of others to be a friend when in actuality, they are not. A friend will not pressure you to do wrong when he or she knows you would rather do right. A friend is not the person who will ask you to go out to that party with him and get "tore up." A friend is not a person who will push you into trying a drug just because it will make all of your problems go away. A friend is not any of these things.

However, a friend will pressure you to do RIGHT when you want to do wrong. A friend will ask you to go watch a movie with them instead of going to that party and getting drunk. That friend will talk sense into you and let you know how many innocent lives have been taken because of ignorant drunken drivers. A friend will not get you around your troubles; he will get you through them. A true friend is as rare as any gift God has given us on earth. We must cherish our friends and love them whole heartedly. When you are feeling down and you don't know where to turn, just look to a friend. The real ones will tell you why they can help you; the fake ones will tell you why they can't.

I have been truly blessed with the gift of friendship in my own life. I KNOW that I have someone there to turn to no matter what the problem may be. I thank God everyday for this wonderful gift. I know I can't see heaven yet, but I can clearly see God every time I look to my friends and I wish you all the same.
