"So faith, hope and love remain...but the greatest of these is LOVE." 1 Corinthians, 13

What is Love?

Love is described by many as a feeling that, "makes your heart smile." In a lifetime, people experience love in many different ways. You love your parents because they are the ones that raised you and have taken care of you since you were a baby. You love your friends because they are there for you when you need them.

You will do lots of things for people out of love. It can be going out of your way to help them out, or by just being there when they need a shoulder to cry on. Now imagine for a second if it was a life threatening case. What if you saw someone that you loved about to get hit by a car? Would you risk your life for a loved one?

Dying so that someone else may live is the greatest love you can possibly give. It is the greatest example of an unselfish act you can experience here on earth. Once upon a time there was a man who partook in this very event. However, He not only died, He suffered terribly.

When Jesus gave His life, all He could think about to make the pain bearable was US. Do not think for one second that because He was the Son of God that He felt no pain. Jesus was human just like all of us. When those razor sharp thorns were pressed into His skull, He thought about Michael, John, Martin, Chris, Brody, Janice, Mary, Michelle, and Wayne. When He was stripped and beaten He thought about Tom, Kayla, Wanda, Marcus, Robert, and Adam. As He was laid on the cross with His hand held out He thought about Crystal, Tammy, Beth, Erica, Andrea, and Buddy. And as those nails were pounded through His wrists blow by blow He thought about Courtney, Lenny, Scott, Kent, Coy, and Clint. Then as the final nail was about to be driven through His feet, He could have shouted for them to stop and He could have shuddered in pain, but instead He thought about ALL of us individually, one by one. He gave His life for mankind but more directly, He gave His life for each one of us. He was beaten so brutally that it is hard to really understand, but we must try everyday to realize what He went through for us to go to heaven.

Right before you commit that next sin, take a step back and realize He went through that pain because we sin. We are all sinners but it is our job to try to live as Jesus did so that we may stand next to Him in HEAVEN, and that is the ultimate goal. Whenever you lose hope and think you can't do it just remember, HE DIED FOR YOU.

God Bless,
Jesus Freak
